Launch of “Migration” – A Documentary Reflection on War, Afghanistan’s Turmoil, and Afghan Refugees’ Hardships

The book “Migration” by Afghan journalist and author Abdul Mubeen Hakimi was officially launched in a special event held in Tehran.
The event was attended by cultural figures, journalists, university professors, writers, and civil society and human rights activists. It was organized by the Organization for the Support of Afghan Civil Society and Exiled Journalists, in collaboration with the “Par” Literary Circle.
The book is divided into two major parts: a personal narrative of the author’s journey to Germany, and an analytical reflection on the post-2021 collapse situation in Afghanistan.
In the first part, Hakimi shares his firsthand experiences from the outbreak of war in northern Afghanistan, the perilous routes of migration, and the harsh realities of seeking asylum. His storytelling is raw and heartfelt, offering a real-life portrayal of Afghan lives during wartime.
The second part provides critical analysis of political and social developments following the fall of the Afghan government in 2021. It covers topics such as media suppression, journalist persecution, global responses, human rights violations, and the deepening economic crisis.
Omid Pouya, head of the Federation of Afghan Journalists in Exile, noted during the event: “Beyond personal storytelling, this book preserves the history of Afghan migration and helps readers understand the current challenges facing Afghanistan.”
“Migration” is regarded as both a documentary and analytical work that has attracted the attention of critics and readers alike, offering a vital resource for those interested in Afghanistan’s socio-political affairs.
