فدراسیون خبرنگاران افغان در تبعید بازداشت فیلم‌ساز و مجری رسانه‌ای افغان رحیم سعیدی را محکوم می‌کند.

The Federation of Afghan Journalists in Exile expresses deep concern over the arrest of Rahim “Saeedi,” a media presenter and Afghan filmmaker, by the Taliban’s intelligence agency.

The Taliban have so far made no public statements regarding Saeedi’s detention. However, members of civil society claim he was arrested due to his film “Khaak” (“Dust”).

According to several civil society activists who have seen the film, it contains critical content aimed at the Taliban, which they believe could lead to harsh punishment for Saeedi.

This incident comes shortly after the Taliban also arrested Mohammad Yar “Majrooh,” a former TOLOnews journalist, in Kandahar province last week.

These actions by the Taliban are seen as part of a broader campaign against the media and its workers, aimed at suppressing freedom of expression by exerting pressure and fear.

The Federation of Afghan Journalists in Exile strongly condemns the unjustified arrest of Rahim Saeedi and urges international media organizations and advocacy groups to put pressure on the Taliban to immediately and unconditionally release him. The Federation further calls for an end to such repressive measures, which have a devastating effect on the practice of journalism and media freedom in Afghanistan.
