Exiled Afghan Journalists Federation Expresses Concern Over Arrest of Bakhtar Journalist in Ghazni

The Federation of Afghan Journalists in Exile has issued a statement expressing deep concern over the arrest of Sayed Wahdatullah Abdali, a journalist working for Bakhtar News Agency in Ghazni province, by the Taliban’s intelligence agency.

The leadership of the Federation described the arrest of journalists as a serious threat to freedom of expression and independent media activities in Afghanistan, and has called for Mr. Abdali’s immediate and unconditional release.

The Federation once again urged the international community and organizations supporting press freedom not to remain indifferent to the deteriorating situation of journalists and media in Afghanistan.
